With a new years comes new years resolutions. First I will review last years resolutions then add anything different that happened.
2007 goals
New Years Resolution
1. Get a Styling Head and practice different hair styling methods.[accomplished]
2. Learn Makeup applications for different styles (glamour, wedding, classic hollywood, dark gothic, natural beauty, etc)[lost interest]
3. Trim about 4 to 5 inches off the waist.[lost 2 inches and last part of year started exercise in december more regular]
4. Do something a little more natural about my hair.[partially dealt with]
1. Changed job to increase pay by $2 more per hour plus more benefits.2. Started Hrt in Sept. (though last year tried some basic low dose for 4 months03. Fixed alternator and key cylinder in car, got new tires finally. Installed chandelier, fixed leaky toilet.4. Have my own room now for my stuff.5. Taking a stance on anti-medical establishments, insurance and medicine. Politically.
One month after starting my new job, I received employee of the month. This really really makes me feel great. No one in my department has ever received this. Our store has around 500 employees, so it is a rather rare award. And unheard of receiving it as fast as i did. One person said it took 5 years when he got it.
I really havent done anything with the site , since I have been focused on my new job, and on the spare time writing for Susan's, playing Sword of the New World, writing a new fantasy story, reading pre columbian american history books, and watching movies. I do notice that someone else bought a cosmetology book on nails. So far this is where the greatest interest in my site has been.
My survey continues to gather responses.
Well hopefully I can add something new.
I, having finally reached my last string of any desire to stay at the book store, decided to pursue working in another place. I wanted to work someplace near my home, considering my car can only go so far before it starts to break down. Across the street is a supercenter, so I applied online there. After 2 unerving interviews and reference checks, and a final drug and background check, I was contacted about setting up a appointment for orientation. Having need to leave a 2 week notice at my then job, I had to spend an excrutiating 2 weeks being almost tortured by several coworkers. They had no confidence in me even liking where I was going and tried to sabotage me with all sorts of horror stories.
This is my 3rd day of work, 1 orientation and 2 day training days. Tomorrow I start the overnight shifts, and will see if I can last working all night.
I am also happy I will be making near what I made 4 years ago. I had dropped down to minimum wage, then had to work my way up to where I had started, at my last retail job. Now I will be making what I had finished making at the Homebase job. 4 years late, but better late then never.
Deciding to complete one more of my new years resolution I bought a styling head. One that I can practice makeup applications and some hairstyling, possibly a haircut or two. Its something that I have wanted for a long time.
Also I spent the time trying to think about what more content I can make for the site again.
Probably the best thing that happened this week is Jo finally added new information telling her feelings and thoughts about when we first met and heard about my cross gender behavior. I accept and want her to be able to express how she felt honestly.
Also Playboy came to my store on Wed, to promote their new college issue mag, with some USM girls in it. The yesterday Robin Roberts of Good Morning America and ESPN came by our store friday to sign her new book (we are her third stop in her nation wide signing). These were two huge events that exhausted us all.
I almost have finished my newest sewing project the mesh tunic. Sewing has returned that creative feeling that I had back when I was making things. I did make a few mistakes, but one evening I removed the stiches and readjusted it to turn out ok. All that is needed now is the elastic and a finishing edge. I also took the time to repair some of my ripped clothing to hopefully extend the life of them.
I pretty much finished a showable version of the body shape post on susan's, which I added. I also went back to the clothing and added about 30% more info. Stuff that expanded, and started making steps to apply that info, since there is a lot of stuff, and it wasnt in very useful form. I also added some more to the body shape post increasing that post. I still want to add more examples and application instructions and info.
Exercise wise I have been able to exercise every day or go out working in the yard. I have mainly been doing a Aerobic or a yoga based exercise routine.
I also worked converting one of my lesser used wigs into a hairpiece. Seeing the cost of ones online of $500 , I decided to take one of my under $50 wigs that I dont use as much , make a pattern first on a piece of paper of the needed shape, then cut it out if I could. From what I tried , it worked very well. The only problem being that the wigs I have I didnt match to my current hair color. I also need to get some adhessive to experiment even more. But what I see so far, I like really well.
Our front yard needed cutting badly so I also bought a new weed eater. I just came in just a bit ago from clearing several areas in our front yard. I spent maybe an hour cutting.
I also have duct tape for another project to try making a body form for making clothes. We will see how that goes.
Another thing I started working on is tryng to increase my vocabulary, especially with verbs, and adjectives. I would like to be able to describe things in greater detail. I also am working again on learning about my feelings, which is part of my vocabulary.
My next section is on masculine and feminine voice/speaking. This is one area that I dont know a lot about, so I am really having to learn, research and ask questions about it.
I added another guide to the androgyne section. I probably spent nearly 15 hours making this last one. I do feel good about finishing the 4rth in what I consider the Core guides to androgynous styles. I looked again at the guides and doing so made me feel pretty good.
Really there is almost nothing similar to it on the web. Most androgyne websites focus on religion or psychology. Very few tidbits talk about androgynous style, and expecially from both a masculinizing and a feminizing perspective.
Sewing I started and am almost finished with a silver mesh top. I like it.
I havent missed a day of work since July (when I took one sick day off) nor vacation since last april. Finally this upcoming week I will get some paid vacation and time off. I am going to take this opportunity to go over the site some more, add some stuff , and such. The holidays wipe me out.
I also want to start making something, sewing. Or maybe try another hobbie.
I spent the last few weekends doing major stuff in the androgyne section at Susan's. My head sorta buzzes from all the research and thinking sometimes. At those times I have to stop , sit back, and watch something on tv or a dvd.
I feel somewhat good about the big FAQ i put together, followed by the survey, then the body hair and hair sections I have made. It really is a lot of work. Many hours of reading, typing, cut and paste, searches, rewording, and thinking logically.
I figure I dont know how long I will live, but need to make the best use of time while I am alive in this world. Seeing several family members die recently awakens me to how fragile life is.
Check out whats been done at http://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,57.0.html if you have never been there.
